About AL-KO Gardentech

What started with the production of the first lawnmower in 1966 led to us becoming one of the market leaders in the garden power tools sector. Since we launched, we have been developing our garden power tools with a high degree of care, creativity and technical perfection, and always think one step ahead. Today, with 21 sites and 700 employees worldwide, we are among global players in the German garden power tool manufacturers in the premium segment.

Germany site

The head office of the AL-KO Gardentech business division is located in Kötz, Bavaria. We have approximately 130 employees working for the company’s success at this headquarters, in all areas from development to sale of our range of products. Staff at this site also coordinate internal infrastructure and organize the entire business division.

Austria site

The majority of our high-quality garden power tools and components are produced in our own plant in Obdach, Styria. The AL-KO plant in Zirbenland, Styria, was founded in 1965. Approximately 270 employees work there and are responsible for the production of our lawn tractors and Robolinho® robotic mowers. In addition to our AL-KO garden power tools range, our industrial components business field has been producing tools, components, preforms, etc. on behalf of many renowned customers since 1965.
